Choong Yao Jin, Head of Secondary

Choong Yao Jin was bitten by the teaching bug early on, when she was still studying for her Bachelor’s in Pharmacology at University College London. After graduating, she spent a year working in scientific research before enrolling on a teacher training course. After 5 years teaching in the UK and a total of 12 years abroad, she has returned to Malaysia. A firm supporter of active learning, she believes that passively listening to a lecture will not help a student to learn. As such, she aims to bring the world into the classroom by showing students the applications of what they are learning in a real-world setting.
