Victor Lau is a teacher from United States. He graduated with honours from Rutgers University, as a History major. Soon after, he completed his Masters of Social Studies Education from the Rutgers Graduate School of Education. He taught in Hoboken, New Jersey and New Delhi, India for three years before coming to Malaysia in 2013. At Westlake International School, Victor has taught English, Geography, Global Persepectives at IGCSE level. A keen sportsman, Victor coaches the school basketball team, which represents WIS in inter-school competitions. His teaching philosophy comes from the belief that students need to be taught how to think critically to become responsible global citizens. Through discipline and open-mindedness, students can make sense of the world around them so that they can eventually change the world for better. Students in Victor’s classes must be aware of their thoughts and actions in order to improve as a student. They are expected to achieve their personal best.
